Mariposa's Art provides after-school art and music programs and community workshops that focus on developing leadership and social skills, addressing key health issues, and promoting academic success and career development. During our past eight years of service, Mariposa's Art has served over 6,000 at-risk youth, empowering them with self-confidence, future goals, gang alternatives, and leadership and communication skills.

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, children with the Syndrome find it difficult to identify and express their feelings, they find it challenging, even impossible, to connect with others, often don't hold eye contact and have trouble reading other people's faces and gestures.
